I work in a marble company. . . Marble and granite have always been perfect for bathrooms and kitchens. . .
If u keep clean there’s no need to worry about bacteria. . .
And they hold up like the rock that they are. . . ! but the installation should b done professionally.
polished i would say is better. . .

I have experience -currently have one in my kitchen. Don’t worry anymore about bacteria with a marble counter-top than I would with other types. I sealed it witha commercial product and even added a coat of wax. As long as you keep a clean kitchen, I wouldn’t worry at all.
